Church House, Tarring Handover
Last week saw the handover of this development of affordable rental units to the client, Worthing Homes.
Built to replace an outdated block of studio flats, this new development offers 15 units of accommodation in beautiful conservation area surroundings, with hard and soft landscaping, waste storage and parking.
Addressing sustainability, the new units feature waste water heat recovery installations, smart energy controls, and fully sustainable surface-water drainage via permeable paving.
The varied and lively design references the surrounding conservation area, featuring double-pitched roofs, bay and box windows, and mixed materials including vertical timber cladding, grey brick, slate, and flint. The development features both new build properties and the refurbishment of a disused Victorian stable block. The mix of old and new, and the retention of established trees and flint perimeter walls, ensures a picturesque neighbourhood fully in keeping with the conservation area surroundings.
