The clearance and redevelopment of a site within the Tarring Conservation area, to provide 15 units of social housing for Worthing Homes.
A varied and exciting design has been chosen for the redevelopment of this site, including many references to the surrounding conservation area buildings. Design features include bay and box windows and double-pitched roofs, with materials including include grey brick and timber panelling, black slate and clay-tiling. Flint restoration work will be undertaken on the Victorian boundary wall, established trees are to be retained, and the original Victorian stable block is to be restored and included within the development.
This project replaces the original 1960s block of bedsits with an attractive development that celebrates the conservation area surroundings as well as providing an increased number of units with significantly increased building efficiency.
Work started on the project at the beginning of January this year and is scheduled to finish in early December 2019.
