Flats for Affordable Rent at Rosemary House, Esher
The development of this site on Portsmouth Road, Esher will see the replacement of an outdated three-storey office building with a stepped block of two, three and four storeys containing 11 flats for affordable rental. The building will have a reinforced concrete frame with SFS Metsec framing to the upper floors. The design incorporates a transfer slab forming an undercroft allowing for parking and the re-siting of one of two electrical substations on the site. Varied elevation materials including rock panel, render, standing seam zinc and timber boarding will reduce the impression of mass and add variety and interest, whilst the stepped roof heights serve to unify the differing scale of buildings to each side.
