Freeland Close and Westward House Handover

We are pleased to announce the completion of the Freeland Close/Westward House project for Chichester District Council.

This scheme has replaced an outdated care home with a modern, well-designed development to provide emergency short-term accommodation for people facing homelessness in the Chichester District.  The new buildings contain 17 units, with a further 3 units and 2 offices contained in the refurbished Westward House.

It has been important to CDC that the development should offer a high-quality environment to its occupants, and although designated "temporary accommodation", it has been built to the same standards as any permanent dwelling. A mixture of studios, one and two bedroom flats have been provided, with one wheelchair accessible (Part M Category 3) flat. All are light, spacious and well-equipped with high-quality fixtures and fittings.  The new buildings are very well insulated and fitted with solar panels, ensuring that the development is highly efficient to keep energy bills as low as possible for residents.

This has been a very worthwhile project in our own home town, and it has felt rewarding to be part of the team that delivered it.  Have a look at Chichester District Council's video on the development here.
