Dan Eley, who carried the Olympic Torch for Waverley and set up the Dan Eley Foundation in 2012, will be among the first tenants to take up residence at Waverley Borough Councils new Development at Station Road, Godalming. Built by W.Stirland with project management by Churchill Hui, the development of 14 new affordable homes will be owned and managed by Waverley Borough Council.

Dan had a life changing accident while working for a children’s charity in Colombia in 2010. Now paralysed from the waist down he is delighted that at last he will have his own home. “It's really an uplifting and exciting moment to go in for the first time to see where I am going to live” said Dan, after being shown around his new home. The property is fully accessible for wheelchair users with ramps, wider internal and external doors, a fully accessible bathroom and other adaptations.

L-R Mayor of Waverley, Cllr Mike Band; Jane Abraham, Head of Strategic Housing; Dan Eley; Ian Moore, W.Stirland; Alexandra Revell, Churchill Hui.
