Albany Villas Hove, East Sussex
Southern Housing Group appointed W Stirland with the refurbishment and conversion of a disused care home into 25 flats.
The site is located on a busy residential street with access to the rear elevation only available through the building. Significant structural works were required in order to make the building safe.
"The project team working on this scheme contributed to a really successful scheme; the attention to detail and quality of workmanship have led to a superb product which has proven extremely popular."

The works involved the major structural repair and restoration of a dilapidated, three-storey, mid 19th century residential property and its conversion to provide 24 one and two bedroom apartments. This required the extension of the existing building on the second floor to incorporate the extra space.
In addition to creation of the apartments, work included the refurbishment and provision of communal areas, associated maintenance of the pedestrian footpath, drainage upgrades and external works.
