Barns Green Primary School Barns Green, West Sussex
Following a Section 106 Planning condition, Berkeley Homes appointed W Stirland for the design and build of a new school. Barns Green Primary School now provides places for 150 pupils in five classrooms, and will expand to provide 210 places in seven classrooms. The works also included the demolition and clearance of the old Itchingfield Primary School, which this new building replaced.
Received from the school and village Liaison Committee:
“Both the Chair and the Vice Chair of Itchingfield Parish Council commented very favourably on the professional approach and minimal adverse impact the construction activity had on the local community. They confirmed that despite considerable construction activity there had been little or no adverse criticism”

The works involved the demolition of the old Itchingfield Primary School and the design and build of a new school which was carried out in the following phases:
Section 1: The design and construction of a new school building and associated external works.
Section 2: The demolition of the existing building, including asbestos removal.
Section 3: The provision of the new car parking area.
