Chesswood Middle School Worthing, West Sussex
One of seven projects we were involved with via the West Sussex County Council Construction & Property Framework. Chesswood Middle School in Worthing was a two-stage design & build project to extend and adapt the school to create a 6FE Junior School.
The extended accommodation provides for an additional 240 pupils meaning the school can serve 720 pupils aged from 7 to 11 years.
Architect: The Seaman Partnership
Engineer: Archibald Shaw

In addition to various areas that were refurbished and adapted a large extension was also built to provide 12 Classrooms and four group rooms. Elevations are a mixture of brick and coloured render with aluminium windows and doors and a standing seam roof.
A new multi-purpose hall was created from an old science laboratory and music room along with additional storage, staff & pupil toilets and extensive external works.
