Frant Primary School Frant, Tunbridge Wells

Project Brief

Procured under the iESE Tier 2 Contractors Framework we built a ½-Form entry Primary School using our own Streif ‘off-site’ timber frame system. The site was steeply sloping in an exposed location on the outskirts of Frant village and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The construction comprised four classrooms, an administration wing, school hall, practical room, hard play and games areas and a new football pitch.

Project Team

Architect: HMY LLP

Engineer: SWP (Stephen Wilson Partnership)

Client Agent: Gleeds management Services Ltd

Project Description

Built in just 35 weeks this project was completed 3 months earlier than if it had been constructed using traditional building methods.

The building achieved an A rating EPC, a BREEAM “Excellent” rating and a Carbon Reduction of 60% over Building Regulations with the use of only minimal renewable technology.

The company has a partnering arrangement with Streif UK, a subsidiary of Streif GmbH. Together we have tailored the German system to meet the requirements of UK Building Regulations and construction methods. As a partnership we are able to provide bespoke off-site solutions across the education, commercial and residential sectors.
