Hurstpierpoint College New Boarding House
Client: Hurstpierpoint College
Contract Value: £6m
Procurement: Two-stage, Design & Build
Completion: End August 2020
Contract: JCT Design & Build (2016)
The design and build of a three-storey, 2,000SqM detached boarding house for the College. The design features deep pitched roofs with dormer windows, red brick elevations with inset flint panels, and red clay roof tiles, and echoes the surrounding mainly Victorian buildings.
The use of the STREIF pre-fabricated construction system for the building means that the structural frame including internal walls, upper floors and roof are constructed off-site and delivered and this method significantly reduces the amount of time required to create a watertight structure. The design also features a two-storey solar control glass wall, and a sustainable urban drainage system which discharges all surface water to a local water course.
Initial groundworks will be underway in October 2019 with completion due in August 2020.
