This new development will replace the existing derelict units of retirement accommodation and will provide 14 units of affordable housing.
The proposed flats are designed to a minimum standard of Part M4(2)Category 2 - Accessible and Adaptable Dwellings, including step-free access to entrance ways, modified WC approach zones and circulation within each unit. The flats meet or exceed the minimum standards stated in the ‘Nationally Described Space Standards’. All flats have an en-suite bathroom in addition to a main family bathroom, and all have private balconies or terraces.
Landscaped car parking is well-lit and overlooked by the dwellings, which are built to Secured by Design standards, and 14 secure and covered communal cycle parking spaces are also to be included.
External surroundings will be landscaped with existing mature trees and hedges retained and new planting and trees introduced. A refuse and recycling store and safe, secure covered cycle parking with 14 spaces will also be provided.
