Purbrook Park School Waterlooville, Hampshire
Purbrook Park School is a Foundation and Trust co-educational comprehensive school that educates up to 840 children. This multi-phased project provided the following new facilities;
New Build Block A—Located at the front of the school this provided a new student entrance along with landscape enhancements.
Assembly Hall—This was subject to major alterations to improve circulation and create more space.
New Build Block B—Provided new facilities for music and drama with a new external amphitheatre.
New Build Block C—Was constructed adjacent to the existing gym, it now provides secure storage for PE and other equipment.
Refurbished Block D—Major refurbishment and internal remodelling of the Art & Design Technology Block with new ICT facilities.
Architect: MH Architects
PQS/PM: Currie & Brown
Such a comprehensive project required critical planning and careful co-ordination. The build process spanned two academic years, enabling the school to function fully throughout.
These new facilities needed to embrace the school’s architectural heritage, and as D&B Contractor we had to be sympathetic to the original building designed by the eminent Palladian architect, Sir Robert Taylor.
