The Glebe Surgery Two and three-storey medical centre, parking and access.

The Glebe Surgery

Client: Medical Centres GB Ltd
Contract Value: £3.4m
Duration: 105 weeks
Sector: Health / Medical
Procurement: Single-stage Competitive Tender
Completion: May 2020
Contract: JCT Design & Build (2016)

The construction of a new two and three storey surgery to replace the current facilities at Monastery Lane, Storrington. The new 1,400 SqM premises will also have a 120 SqM independent pharmacy and 59 parking spaces.

Storrington is a village location, and careful consideration has been given to ensure that the new surgery sits well within its surroundings. To reduce the bulk impact the building has been designed as a collection of smaller elements. This impression is further reinforced by the use of varied materials and finishes, including two colours of brickwork, dark timber cladding and flintwork. References to the surrounding buildings have been incorporated, including pitched roofs and double gable ends to each wing, and vertical recessed brick detailing to echo that found in older buildings in Storrington.

Completion is due in May 2020.
