Yew Tree Court Cuckfield, West Sussex
Affinity Sutton appointed us with the demolition of existing redundant housing and the design and build of ten flats in a two-storey building with associated external works. The site was located within a built-up residential area next to a primary school which necessitated a programme of restricted delivery times in order to maintain good relationships with the school and with existing residents.
Following completion we received the following note from Ghislaine Davis, Development Manager, Affinity Sutton;
“Whilst this was a really challenging site with hideous features to overcome, I am hugely grateful to each of you for your personal efforts to deliver within the year. I think it looks really good and will be a joy for our residents to occupy. All the immediate site neighbours speak really highly of the way you managed the site, the deliveries, the subcontractors, communications and their concerns and I could not agree more. I think the quality of the build is very high for affordable housing and I was impressed with the innovative way you massaged the design into something that would work and give us great, useable building.
Your efforts over the last two days of handover really paid off and the units were looking very good indeed when I took away the keys. As with the previous schemes, the provision of all the essential documents and Building Manuals in just the format we need made my life very easy in that respect. I thank you all very much.
At the time this was one of five projects being undertaken for Affinity Sutton across the south-east.
Yew Tree Court saw the demolition of the existing houses built in the 60’s to be replaced by this brand new block of ten flats. There is also extensive parking, refuse storage and hard and soft landscaping.
