Chichester based building contractor W. Stirland Ltd has been appointed by Hampshire County Council to construct a new purpose built visitor centre at Lepe Country Park.
Replacing the old centre, the new glass-fronted structure, earmarked as part of a £2.7million improvement scheme, will be built on top of concrete columns to protect it from rising sea levels and tidal storm surges.
It will include a café and is being built with bigger indoor seating areas offering panoramic views of the Solent. There will also be landscape changes, improved car parking, new play areas, signage and interpretation ensuring there’s plenty to enjoy on a visit to Lepe.
The 120-acre attraction is used by over 300,000 people a year. See more here;
