Worth School - Sixth Form Centre
Worth School are expanding their sixth form intake and have appointed us to deliver a brand new sixth form centre. The new two-storey building will accommodate 6 classrooms, 5 seminar rooms, 4 staff offices, a social space, a large specialised study space, a new library and a multi-purpose hall, plus WCs and storage. These new areas will provide a first class dedicated facility for the school's expanding sixth form, covering all needs from classroom learning to study, research, and socialising.
The building will be formed on a cross-laminated timber frame, with the ribbed structure exposed at ceiling level. The design of the building addresses climate change concerns throughout, with near zero carbon rating on the frame, maximum use of natural daylight through large windows and rooflights, and natural (non-mechanical) ventilation and cooling methods.
